Tod is in my class. He doesn’t have an easy life at home because his Dad doesn’t work and his brother is always in trouble with the police.
Tod sometimes makes mistakes and gets into trouble himself, but does really try to do the right thing. He is sometimes told off in class because he gets angry, but it’s really because he finds it difficult to deal with his emotions and really hard to tell people how he is feeling.
Tod is quite sensitive and kind and he really loves his mum, but his Dad and his brother are always telling him that boys can’t cry and only sissies hang round their mothers. Tod wants to stand up for himself at home, but his Dad and brother are quite frightening.
Everyone likes Tod though because he’s always got something funny to say and his cheeky grin helps him get away with all sorts! Whenever he can get away with it, he has his baseball cap on – naturally he always wears it backwards!
He likes Dot because she is the one person that he finds he can talk to about how he feels and she never tells anybody.
