Courts are open to the media to report whats happened. The press usually sit on a special bench to take notes they are not allowed to photograph or record what goes on. The press are only allowed to report what happens in open court. Sometimes in Crown Court, the lawyers want to speak to the judge privately and the jury would be asked to leave the press would not be able to report what happens when the jury arent there.
The media are able to report Youth Court cases, but they are not usually able to name any young people involved in the case.
